Biography

Building durable value through operating experience.

Ryan founded 1703 Digital Holdings to acquire and build durable digital businesses that can benefit from active ownership, operating discipline, technology, and a long time horizon.

Before founding 1703, Ryan built and led Grid151 within the Westcor enterprise. He grew the business from inception into a national platform generating peak annual revenue of approximately $65 million and closing more than 10,000 transactions per month. He held full EBITDA responsibility across multiple businesses and led teams spanning operations, technology, product, sales, finance, legal, compliance, marketing, and customer success.

Ryan’s work has consistently centered on building new capabilities in traditional and fragmented markets. He created and commercialized software, data, workflow, managed-services, commercial title, specialty insurance, and institutional real estate solutions. His initiatives included Closepin, a centralized counterparty-compliance platform; GridBase, a data and connectivity platform for lender and title collaboration; eAgency, a managed-services model for affiliated title operations; and operating infrastructure supporting institutional single-family-rental acquisitions and securitizations.

Earlier in his career, Ryan co-founded Avenue 365 Lender Services and SmarterTitle.com. Across these businesses, he built national operations, developed partnerships, created new revenue streams, and helped modernize complex manual workflows.

Ryan combines an entrepreneurial builder mentality with the discipline of a full P&L operator. He is most effective where business quality is real, the opportunity is not yet fully developed, and thoughtful execution can produce durable improvement.

He earned a B.A. in Political Science and History from Swarthmore College and is based in West Chester, Pennsylvania.
